Atkins diet suggestions for breakfast

I have heard it many times. Atkins is great, but what can I have for breakfast, except eggs and cheese. In reality there is plenty to choose from. Omelettes and other varieties of egg dishes are of course an option. But there is also carbohydrate controlled cereals, smoothies, muffins and quiches. It depends on which phase of Atkins you are in and, of course, your personal preferences what choices work best for you.

Before I give you a list of Atkins breakfast suggestions, I want to make sure you are aware of the fact that there is an Atkins bake mix, that you can use to make Belgian waffles or pancakes for breakfast. Or you can make a loaf of bread, like a cranberry-orange loaf, a zucchini nut bread, or a spicy country cornbread.

With these considerations in mind, here is a list of breakfast suggestions that clearly demonstrates that variety does not have to be an issue:

Eggs and omelettes

Cheese

Bread loaves, such as cranberry-orange, zucchini nut

Cornbread, such as spicy country

Porridge, e.g. oatmeal

Belgian waffles with syrup and strawberries or with whipped cream

Pancakes and crepes,

Breakfast burittos,

Muffins

Smoothies, such as strawberry or raspberry

Carbohydrate controlled cereals

No crust quiche

I am sure that once you get used to the no/low carbohydrate approach to food, you can come up with even more variety. And if you are anything like me, your weight loss will be a great motivator to come up with even more suggestions.
